Hi there.
This is a bit of a strange question.
A friend of mine has been involved with animal work for years, travelling abroad and campaigning. She has been involved with rescuing exotic pets from irresponsible owners and in the past acquired several to look after due to homes not being found, such as a Fennec Fox which somebody kept in their garden shed.
Sadly the Fennec Fox (Ziggy she was called) died recently and she was absoloutely heartbroken. She's had the little thing for like eight years or something. I'd love to find out if she could get another - she has paperwork to look after wild animals (she runs a sanctuary now, she has money and the biggest garden ever). She is in the UK. Can anyone tell me where she can get another, and how much they cost?
Thanks!
Exotic pets?
Let her handle her grief and be there for her, but getting another fennec for her would make you and her no better than the people she's rescuing the animals from.
If she does what you say and if she is as good as you make her sound this will be the way she sees it too.
Fennecs are wild animals and are better admired from afar.
Reply:let her grieve for the one she has lost and when she is ready decide than if she wants to get another. Personally I feel strongly that no animal should live alone and if she decides to get another, she should get 2 of them.
If she does rescue then perhaps it isn't ethical to 'buy' one.
