A Very Funny Joke (I Think)?

Is this funny, or not?



A man was in his house and he looked outside into his garden. He saw 2 men robbing his garden shed. He got up and ran to the telephone and dilled 999. The policeman on the end of the phone said there was no one in the area to assist, he said they will come as soon as possible. The man was not pleased and he looked out again and they were still there. He called 999 again and the man said they had a gun (of course they didn't have one). 2 minutes later there was 2 SWAT Units, 5 Police cars, a helicopter and the FBI surrounding his house. They caught the robbers red handed. The policeman asked the man, "I thought you said they had a gun?" The man replies, "I thought you said there was no one in the area?"
