I have some decking in the back garden which i would like to colour the same as the other woodwork in the garden(shed, fencepanels etc,). The preservative I have used is "woodcare - rich oak". I have brushed on this stuff all around the sides that enclose the decking, and ideally would like to do the deck the same colour, but am wary that as it is not a specialist deck treatment, it may wash off if it rains, or when i walk on it. If this is the case is there anything i can do afterwards to stop this happening, like sealing it or something. If i was to buy some sort of clear sealer, could i paint the deck with the bog standard preservative that i used to paint the fence with? thank you.
What does staining a deck mean?
stains will never ever wash away as they have alot of oil in them, and oil sheds water like crazy.
If you let it dry properly you will not get stain transfered onto your feet so don't worry and stain away.

Reply:You can get colored stain at a paint store or most hardware stores!*
Reply:Ask at a paint store or places such as Home Depot. They can help you with this problem.
Reply:stain is coloring so if you want a dark deck use some blackberries in the paint to get a good dark stain----ugru
