This goes back to the 1970s, on the BBC magazine programme "Nationwide" they featured a chap who built a jet car in his garden shed, they followed his trials and tribulations finally, his record attempt at Pendinne sands in south wales.
Sadly he failed, but what ever happened to him and his car, I do wish he did not give up.
British Land speed record?
I hear you, but then there was the fellow who took his Ferrari down a motorway doing some insane record speed (for that kind of car anyhow), filmed the entire thing on videocam, distributed it to all his friends and on the Internet, and once the police got a look at the tape, they promptly issued a citation.
In this particular case, I am not curious to find out what happened to him and I do wish he gave it up lol.
Reply:the first car was a rover, now in a museum ,the guy i don't know what happened to him, and at the time they could not keep the tyres on it or enough fuel
