Our family was living in a rental house on the other side of town. The Monday before we were to move back home our indoor female cat Danni went missing. No sign of her before we moved back home. Oddly, we found her last night hiding under our garden shed. Thanks to our dog who would not leave whatever it was alone, we discovered her. She was missing for 4 weeks and is skin and bones and walks very poorly right now. She's a very skittish cat and we suspect she's been hunched down under there for weeks without ever coming out and that' she's walking bad. You can feel every bone in her when you pet her. We've provided her with water and catsip if she chooses. Of course, she can't keep anything down. We need advice on how to feed and water her going foward. Is rice, chicken, and water in severe moderation what she needs? I have no idea how she found her way back home .. perhaps a stowaway???
Missing cat after 4 weeks appeared malnourished and dehydrated?
my cat didnt eat anything for a few days and then died in corner of our garage, so feed her everyday if she wants to and if she is old then maby its her time.Im not being mean when i say this but, good luck.
ps: I love cats!!!
Reply:She's terribly dehydrated, and needs to get fluids at the vet. It's really become an emergency situation for her, and the sooner you get her in the better her chances are. They will give her fluids to rehydrate her, and that will get her feeling better. Then she needs frequent small meals until she's on the mend. She's lucky now to still be alive, as cats cannot go long without food and water. Good luck with her, but please do get her to the vet today!
Reply:Hi, My suggestion on feeding your cat is kitten food mix with watter and milk in the side. if that doesn't work, take a syringe and feed her your self, But, because she is to skinny I think she could be dehydrated best solution take her to the vet ASAP she needs IV fluid. I hope she gets better.
Reply:she probably walked home. cats are very smart. she walked home and stayed under the shed to keep dry and everything keep cool u know.
your going to have to take her to the vet theres no way around it if you dont and shes not keeping food down shell die.
goodluck,
Reply:go to the emergency vet ASAP. your cat is in a CRUCIAL state, and they will have to IV her.
this is really necessary.
[move her really gently when taking her to the vet - perhaps but her in a large cardboard box with blankets or a basket.]
Reply:Call your vet and ask about how much you should feed her, because this is a delicate situation. If you feed her too much or too little she might get sick. I recommend talking to your vet. Go to your vet you can loose her
Reply:You need to rush this cat to a veterinarian. She needs to be hydrated immediately. If you don't bring her for emergency medical treatment she could die! HURRY......don't wait.
Reply:take her to a vet asap. her condition will only worsen if she can't hold anything down. the vet will give her iv nutrition to rehydrate her.
Reply:You need to get her to the Vet for IV fluids %26amp; other treatment.
If left to long her kidneys %26amp; other organs can start to shut down.
Reply:Get this cat to a vet pronto so they can put her on an IV, otherwise you might lose her. If she has been starved that long she won't be able to keep anything down.
Reply:DONT WAIT!!!! WHAT ARE YOU THINKING??? this cat NEEDS to see the VET right now!!!
if you don't bring her to that vet, you'll kill her
Reply:ask a vet about it
