When i bring my canaries in from the aviary for the winter should i separate the hens from the cocks?

I have an open flighted aviary in the garden which i leave my canaries in during the warmer months. This winter i am going to bring them into the shed in cages. Should i keep the hens seperated from the cocks? As I will want them to breed next season.

Seperate them. They won't try to breed when the days get shorter and they go through their molt, but male are territorial sometimes.
Reply:seperate them. they don't breed in the winter and you will probably have healthier chicks if you breed in the spring.
