Are you forced to have green boxes for recycling? can we be forced to have an open box?

of rubish in our front gardens? this is an eye sore, open to vandals throwing it in the road. the council should build sheds for these boxes to go in. dont be bullied by your local council. THEY WORK FOR US

The council put contract out to tender. If you want to make a difference you have to contact whomever is responsible and write them a letter.
Reply:we pay our taxes we should get one bin for all all the recycling is driving my crazy save me time. why cant the local prisoners sort the rubbish that will stop them misbehaving! I AM JUST AS ANNOYED AS YOU ABOUT THIS SITUATION SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE
Reply:I can't believe how many people are whining about the "nuisance" involved in the recycling process. There is a far bigger issue at stake here than the type of receptacle you have to put the waste in!
Reply:yep we have to use green boxes for recycling.

If we put the wrong items in the box we get a big yellow sticker put on the box to tell us off. You end up feeling like a naughty child.
Reply:Recycling is a good thing we get much to much packaging in shops. we are already starting to feel the signs of Climate Change it doesn't matter how much we all try to do it right I think we might be wasting our time as the government will still push forward Landfill or worse still incinerators which will have to work to full capacity to be viable therefore will be filled with our efforts of recycling
Reply:Is it something you can keep in your back yard until pickup day? Where I live we use wheeled carts that are only allowed to be on the curb on your pickup day, and have to be out of sight otherwise. I suggest you contact your city council and recommend a policy such as this. It's pretty much the norm in California.
Reply:Unfortunately , it is practised in some parts of Britain, and most parts of London,

BUT not everywhere

Most places have green wheelie bins, that are secure and clean
