My rabbit is eating less?

My rabbit is about 4 months old, he lives in a shed in the garden, he used to eat about 3-4 small bowls of fresh grass every day, but 2day he only had 1 bowl! he also had little amount of his food, apple and carrot loll

but he doesn't eat much; does that mean he is sick? Or is it because it’s getting cold now?

He is running around and looks normal but I’m just worried because I don’t have much experience.

My rabbit is eating less?
I'm glad you have cared for your bunny enough to notice a decline in its eating habits. This is usually a sign that your rabbit may be getting sick. The temperature usually has little effect on the eating habits of a domestic rabbit.

You specifically mentioned that the decline has been in the eating of the grass. If the rabbit is eating the same amount of store bought food then I wouldn't worry about the grass. The reason is that the pellets contain all the nutrients need in your rabbits diet. Hay is also beneficial to their digestive system.

However, if the eating of pellets has also has declined then I would be concerned, especially if the rabbit is not pooping. You may try to encourage the rabbit to eat by giving it small pieces of banana, or slices of apple.

If your bunny still wont eat it may have an an obstruction in the digestive tract.

Hope this helps some.
Reply:Well if it is getting colder where you live, can you bring him inside?

Also you can buy rabbit food at the pet shop. You can not just feed him grass!

He might be thirsty also, do you provide fresh water at least twice a day?

Carrots are OK as a treat, but not as their main diet. Apples might give him cramps and diarrhea.

Don't feed him any lettuce either, contrary to popular beliefs lettuce is not good for rabbits.

This is a LIVING creature, that depends on you to survive.

Please don't leave him in a shed!
Reply:Rabbits must eat hay, and lots of it, throughout the day, to keep their digestive tract running smoothly. If he hasn't been eating hay for a time, he may have what is known as "stasis", which means his system is partially or even fully blocked--you will know this is the case if his droppings are now quite small compared to before this change occurred, or if they are not as abundant. Bring him to a vet who treats rabbits as soon as you can; it sounds like he may need medical help if the problem doesn't resolve itself soon.
Reply:I don't know really.. because I had a Guinea Pig, and it didn't eat much either.. it stopped drinking.. eating.. but it continued to play around.. I think that you should call Petco.. Or a local Vet.. and ask them this question. They will give you answers.
Reply:He might just be going through a phase and will start eating more again. They tend to eat voraciously when they're young to keep up with their growth, so maybe it's just done growing for a bit. Do keep an eye on your bunny, though. If the coat starts to look dull, or the rabbit starts acting lethargic and/or sneezing or oozing out of any orifice, you need to see about taking it in to the vet.
Reply:he might be sick and trying 2 hide it cause that is what they would do in the wild. i would call a vet
