Phone socket or network extension?

I am putting a shed in my garden to use as an office and need to get an internet connection to it as welll as a landline line telephone. The shed will be around 20 meters from the nearest telephone point in my house.I would ideally add the router at this point as well. so:

1)How far can i realistically use/run a telephone extension lead for use as a landline.

2) how far could i run an ethernet cable without the connection failing ( basically from my house to my shed )

I have considered wireless but it doesnt seem to be too reliable with the distances involved so i would prefer to use cabled solution if at all possible.

Phone socket or network extension?
The max distance for cat 5 is 100 meters, so it should not be a problem. A decent wireless router will transmit up to the same distance with some loss for walls etc. so I would not rule it out for your application.
Reply:this question is not full first u have to specifie what kind of internet conection u r thinking about like dsl or dial up ....say detail about present environment + which is u contry too because in diferent contries diferent ways we have to follow any way this is not a big deal
