What breed of dog would be best for me?

im hoping to get a dog in a few years or so. i wouldnt mind a cross or a mut but wanted to look as pure breeds first. im on my third animal care course and have a steady income and can afford any vet bills, food etc. so thats no issue for me. i have a medium sized garden and live in a house just out side of a town. ive researched a few breed and am just looking for some input.

so my question is what breed would be best?

1)I work in the mornings and am at college all day tuesdays. so it must be able to spend time alown.

2)must be small-medium.

3)fine with small animals. i have a rabbit(shes fine with dogs)

4)must be nonfighting breed and also not known to be snappy.

5)not hyper, friendly and good for shorter walks every day so faily active.

6)not much grooming, or shedding.

any breed sugestions welcome. thanks.

Small to medium size, very intelligent.

Loves people %26amp; other animals. Very friendly.

Fur doesn't cause allergies (but does need regular clipping)
Reply:having read all of this and knowing a bit about dogs i don't think a dog would be for you.

Reply:King Charles Cavalier. Fit all your requirements and are lovely little dogs
Reply:nope get a cat

and one other thing i dont give a flying bleep if i get a violation,

there is no such thing as a fighting breed okay its the stupid people that raise the powerful breeds that way okay
Reply:a beagel is good there very energetic thou so you might need a big yard or if u wanted a bit bigger get a husky/border collie i had one and he never was rough or meen to anyhting ( heck he was scared of cats )
Reply:Australian Cattle dogs are great. I'm a little bias because I owned one for 15 years but it's the truth. As puppies, they are very active but if you can get one that's two years or older they'll be more laid back. They are great protectors and work well as a family pet whenever ever you get married and have children. You do have to be dominate and claim leadership over them because they do have dingo in them. They're a medium build. I suggest a male, females have more dominance issues.
Reply:staffordshire bull terrior
Reply:if you look like your avatar then you should get a shitzu
Reply:A Pembroke Welsh Corgi is best for you.

They do not mind being left alone.

They are not snappy

They only need grooming once a week and don't shed a lot.

Are good with other animals/Dogs

Is small in size

Will be happy to be taken on shorter walks!!

Good Luck In finding a dog!
Reply:i would have said a beagle but my friend who has one says it doesnt like her rabbits and has to keep it away from them but they leave it on its own for about 6 hours a day .im not sure what they are like as puppys as hers was a rescue dog.
Reply:a not too young dog becuase you have to be with them constantly a more older dog about 4 or 5 years old smaller dogs tend to yap to much medium dogs are not to bad my advice get a dog thats a irish setter there hunting dogs but not really rabitt hunters more bird hunters, irish setters are extremly rare but clever! you can hardly find them anymore there not exactly medium dog sized but there great animals.but whatever you choose good luck there a handful!
Reply:Corgi
Reply:Cats are better because they bury their poop. Dogs are filthy, worthless.
