Recycling and storage advice please...U.K?

We recycle where possible but I find it irritating to store enormous plastic milk cartons and piles of paper in the kitchen...I fill the cartons with hot water and then squeeze them flat..but we have a lot by the time the trucks come once a fortnight....my garden shed is a long way away from the house and with 2 small children I cannot go regularly to store them i there, so the end up in my kitchen in big bags...not very conveniant....what can I store them in? What do you do? I dont want them outside the door cluttering up the garden....

I got a can crusher, but to be honest beyond that nothing - I have much the same problems as you - and am also sick of the stuff cluttering up the kitchen!
Reply:I attach open bags to the side of my bin.
Reply:Have you no recycling bin? There are plenty round about here so it is a 5 min walk at worst.
Reply:you can buy a plastic container that will fit in a cupboard, or yes just buy another bin, you could maybe buy a container with a saleable lid and put it neatly outside.
